First event of 2020: Investigating the Interactions between Health and Climate Change Using the MIMES Model

The relationship between the environment and the impacts on people’s health is the subject of several research initiatives. Given the number of factors involved, understanding how possible changes in the environment can impact life on the planet becomes a major challenge for researchers.

In this sense, a large number of researchers dedicate their efforts to the development of techniques and tools to assist in the modeling and integration of interdisciplinary knowledge, such as the issue of climate change and the impacts on people’s lives.

Among these techniques, the Multiscale Integrated Model of Ecosystem Services (MIMES) stands out, which will be the subject of the first 2020 event of the Study Group on Planetary Health at IEA / USP.

The event, which will be held on March 5 at IEA / USP, will feature a presentation by Professor Brian Fath, from Towson University, and Bruno Meirelles, doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Science (PROCAM) at USP.
